Mercedes AMG GT (almost) revealed
Wed, 11 Jun 2014The Mercedes AMG GT revealed with green and black camouflage As we expected, Mercedes is drawing out the tease for the reeval of the new AMG GT – effectively a replacement for the SLS – and milking every detail for more column inches. We’ve had a full reveal of the S-Class inspired interior – a full reveal, not just a few detail shots – and we’ve also had a tease of the AMG GT on video with a few blurry glimpses of the new car dotted throughout. We’ve even had a variation on the tease them with a selection of engine noises – from idle to high revs – but now we get a real photo of the AMG GT, albeit covered in lurid green and black camouflage swirls.
Peugeot RCZ Magnetic Limited Edition – it’s a black or white RCZ
Fri, 17 May 2013The RCZ Magnetic gets based on the RCZ Sport but gets extra goodies added to make a special edition which costs less, say Peugeot, than if you specced a regular RCZ up to the same level. Extra equipment includes parking aids (front and back), interior sports kit (that’s a soft touch leather steering wheel and short shift gear lever), Peugeot Connect Nav (that’s sound and CD with Nav), Connect SOS and Assistance, 19″ Sortilege alloys with a matt black finish, Black Pack (which gives you a black finish on the roof arches, grill, mirrors and brake callipers) and Sports front seats. You only have the choice of two paint jobs – black and white – with the black RCZ Magnetic getting Metallic Nera black paint with red flame leather interior and the white RCZ Pearlescent Pearl white with black leather.
Mazda's rotary engine stalled, not forgotten
Wed, 20 Oct 2010Development of the next-generation rotary engine from Mazda Motor Corp., first unveiled three years ago, is making slow progress despite missing emissions targets. A top Mazda powertrain executive said today that the 1.6-liter rotary engine, called the 16X, is about 30 percent more fuel-efficient than the current rotary engine used in the RX-8 sporty car. In fact, the 16X so far performs slightly better than Mazda's standard two-liter gasoline engine, said Mitsuo Hitomi, general manager of the Japanese carmaker's powertrain division.
