Land Rover Discovery Sport: first pictures of 2015's family SUV

Wed, 03 Sep 2014

By Ben Pulman First Official Pictures 03 September 2014 00:01 This is the new 2015 Land Rover Discovery Sport, a replacement for the Freelander, and the model that kick-starts the rejuvenation and expansion of the Discovery family. For the past four years it’s been Land Rover’s Range Rover brand getting all the love and attention, first with the Evoque (originally shown as the Land Rover-badged LRX concept), then the full-size Range Rover, and most recently with the Range Sport and LWB Range Rover. Now the focus is shifting, and it’s the turn of the Discovery nameplate, which will grow to encompass a full family of family-focused SUVs.

The anti-drink-drive car

Fri, 03 Aug 2007

By Tim Pollard Motor Industry 03 August 2007 02:25 Nissan today unveiled its answer to drink-driving: the car that monitors the driver's alcohol level before every journey and stops you if you're about to break the law. Boffins at the Japanese firm have equipped a domestic market Fuga with monitoring equipment that can spot if a driver has been boozing. It's so sophisticated, engineers claim it can differentiate between perfume (which often contains alcohol) and tell if it's the driver or the passengers that have been drinking.

Top Gear Tonight: Burma Road Trip – yes, it’s Top Gear Christmas in March

Yes, March is a bit late for a Christmas Special, but it’s becoming the Top Gear norm. What isn’t normal is the fact that there are no cars for Messrs Clarkson, Hammond and May to drive, instead they’re all in beaten up trucks bought sight unseen from the internet for a road trip across Burma to the River Kwai.
