For Sale: Cetrek 780 Autopilot system.  This was removed from our sailboat functional and working.  Electronics upgrade and incompatibility led to its removal.  This auction includes the 780 Pilot control head, course computer, rudder reference sensor and flux gate compass (not pictured).  Mounting hardware for the control head is included.  I'm also including a great deal of written material (installation, user and other manuals) for the 780.  Rare opportunity to get a complete Cetrek autopilot control system (the linear drive is not included) for your own installation or for these rare parts.  Due to the complexity of the original installation, I am unable to remove the wiring but I can likely attempt to provide the purchaser with the connection hardware for the course computer inputs and outputs (example in photos) with some wiring.  Please ask any questions before bidding...free shipping within North America with Buy-it-Now...$40 otherwise to Canada/USA, ask for quote to other countries. Ford prototype seat measures your heart rate

Ford continues its foray into health and wellness with a car that can monitor the driver's heart activity. Research engineers in Germany have developed a prototype seat with six sensors that can monitor the heart's electric impulses through clothes and give an early warning as to whether a driver should seek medical attention because of irregularities. Drivers who have cardiovascular disease are 23 percent more likely to be involved in a car accident.

The new S Class (W222) gets a bit longer than the current S Class (by 20mm), a bit wider (28mm) and a bit lower (25mm) but the wheelbase of the standard S Class stays the same at 3035mm with the long wheelbase S Class getting an extra 130mm for extra sprawling room. There will be a variety of engines on offer in the new S Class (from parsimonious 4-cylinders to mighty V12s) but we’re expecting at launch that just three will be on offer – the S350 diesel with a 255bhp V6, the S400 with a 300bhp V6 petrol and the S500 with a 4.7 litre turbo petrol with 450bhp. In terms of styling, Mercedes appear to have taken away much of the bulbous look of the current S Class and replaced it with a more flowing shape, but one that’s still very much S Class.

2013 Porsche 911 GT3 (991) arrives UPDATED & OFFICIAL

We have the first photos of the 2013 Porsche 911 GT (991) ahead of its reveal this week at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. Update: Porsche has now caught up with the first photos arriving and we have official details of what the new 911 GT3 has to offer. A rise in weight from the last GT3 sees the new GT3 weighing in at 1430kg, but power is up to 468bhp and 324lb/ft of torque from a tweaked version of the 3.8 litre flat 6 which now revs to 9000rpm with power going to the back wheels through the auto ‘box.
