Here is a Chaparral Snowmobile Rewind Starter that fits all (2) cylinder Chaparral engines.

Chaparral existed in Longmont, CO. from about 1968 to 1974. They were well known in their later years for their IFS and race sleds.  Their last sleds were liquid cooled 440's in 1974, had a Para-Rail suspension, and were really ahead of their time in technology. Several HP classes were sold over the years using several engine manufacturers. CCW, Hirth, JLO, and Xenoah engines were all used. Early sleds had bogie suspensions...Para-Rail was used the last 3 years. Like most manufacturers at that time, they were victim to poor winters and closed their doors as the snowmobile market faced its first major down sizing.

These sleds were not around for a great length of time but did make a great impression on the snowmobilers of the '70's.

This rewind has been inspected and lubed and functions perfectly.  This rewind starter sold for about 140.00 when purchased new.

Callaway's Supercharged Corvette Stingray packs 610-hp

Mon, 20 Jan 2014

Callaway has debuted their supercharged version of the Chevrolet Corvette dubbed SC610, which should provide an intriguing alternative to the the 2015 Corvette Z06. SC of course stands for supercharged, with 610 being the horsepower figure. That's right, Callaway has squeezed out an extra 155-hp and 96 lb-ft of torque out of the naturally aspirated 6.2-liter V8 powering the C7 Corvette, for a total of 610-hp and 55 lb-ft of torque.

Its latest model is this Corvette Grand Sport, and while it won’t revive the company’s fortunes, at least it’ll help ‘Vette enthusiasts forget about the future. It’s a wide-body ‘Vette with track-tuned suspension.

Saturday night's all right at Barrett-Jackson auction

Sat, 21 Jan 2012

Auction company Barrett-Jackson has a long-standing tradition of selling cars with no reserve--meaning the car is sold to the highest bidder regardless of price--but a change in that policy saw several million-dollar sales Saturday night at the annual extravaganza in Scottsdale, Ariz. While most of the cars crossing the Barrett-Jackson auction block continue to be sold at no reserve, the auction giant offered up several classics with a reserve and the results were impressive. The top five sellers all eclipsed the magical million-dollar figure with the auction broadcast live on Speed TV.
