FERREA COMPETITION PLUS HOLLOW STEM VALVES One important factor to take into consideration to increase the engine’s rpm’s, is the valve train weight. Of course, being the valve a main component, the design has to be perfected to accomplish the weight reduction to allow higher RPM’s. Ferrea’s latest contribution to this area is the introduction of its Lightweight Hollow Stem Valve. Ferrea developed a manufacturing process that gun drill and micro polish the stem to achieve a valve reduction in weight of 20 percent compared to a conventional stainless steel solid stem valve. The valves also feature friction welded tips, radial grooves, avionics chrome plated stems, seat hardness up to 42 HRc and super flo to improve flow design. Most of our performance valve sizes are not stock-OE sizes and are usually larger than stock-OE sized valves. Lexus IS (2013) more details of new 3-series rival
Tue, 15 Jan 2013Lexus has pulled the cloth back on the all-new Lexus IS at the 2013 Detroit motor show, and announced more details of its new hybrid 3-series rival. This will be the first hybrid Lexus IS, and UK sales will start in summer 2013. What do we know about the new hybrid Lexus IS? The IS300h combines an electric motor with a 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine. The torque output is yet to be confirmed, but there's 217bhp and Lexus is aiming for a sub-100g/km CO2 output and fuel consumption of at least 65mpg. Figures like that are likely to grab the attention of fleet managers, as Lexus hopes to close the gap on rivals like the BMW 3-series, Mercedes C-class and Audi A4. There's a non-hybrid model too, but this IS250 will be powered by a 204bhp 2.5-litre V6 petrol engine. It won't be a fleet favourite. The IS250h has a six-speed automatic transmission, the IS300h has a CVT gearbox, and both cars are rear-wheel drive.
Jaguar C-X75 supercar program halted
Tue, 11 Dec 2012Jaguar has dropped plans to put the C-X75 hybrid-powered supercar into production, according to a report Tuesday by Autocar magazine in the UK. The reason is struggling economies around the world, the magazine said, citing Jaguar brand director Adrian Hallmark. Jaguar planned to launch the C-X75 next year and had partnered with the Williams Formula One team to help develop it.

Mon, 11 Jan 2010Toyota showed off the new FT-CH at the Detroit auto show today - and confirmed a whole family of Prius extensions. The edgily styled FT-CH is set to be one of those new Prius models. The Yaris-sized concept was designed in ED2, Toyota's Euro design base in Nice, France.
