For sale is one used cast iron externally balanced small block 400 crankshaft. Casting# 3951529 Date Code D 19 2 (April 19, 1972) For Chevy Small Block 400ci 1970-1980 **Works for 1969-1985 Chevy 350ci (For 383 Stroker) This cast iron crankshaft was removed from a SBC 400 and has the 3.75" long stroke and 2.65" main journals. It was taken to our local machine shop where it was inspected, it checked out good. The rod and main journals are both un-cut, they are standard size. The journals all have surface rust on them (pics), but there is no deep pitting and they will clean up well. The snount and rear flange are in good condtion. **This crank has the 400 sized main bearings (2.65"), if your planning on stroking your Chevy 350ci the main journals will need to be cut down to the 350 size (2.45"), This crank will need to be taken to a professional machine shop to be ground and possibly cut down for 383 stroker use.

The winners of the CDN–GM Interactive Design Competition have been announced at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit. Following a guided tour of the auto show with the GM design team, the finalists gathered on the GMC stand in Cobo Hall where Mark Adams and Ken Parkinson – heads of design for Cadillac & Buick, and Chevrolet & GMC respectively – were joined by Car Design News' Editor Owen Ready to present the winners of each brand's competition brief. Joining them on stage were the mentors from GM's design teams who interacted with the entrants throughout the competition to critique and help develop their work, making this a truly unique contest.

Michelin has announced the 15 finalists of the 2014 Michelin Challenge Design, themed ‘Driven/Undriven: The Duality of Tomorrow's Automobile'. Their work will be showcased in January at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit. A judging panel of automotive designers and industry experts selected individuals and teams from Italy, China, South Korea, Finland, Serbia, Canada, Brazil, Mexico and Guatemala from over 900 registrants from 74 countries.

The Alfa Romeo Disco Volante (pictured) is going in to limited production
The Alfa Romeo 8C is a beautiful – if flawed – supercar from Alfa, made even more individual by by Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera with their Alfa Disco Volante Concept in 2012. That Concept – which arrived at the Geneva Motor Show in 2012 – has now been updated for 2013 and is being put in to limited production for those with deep pockets to indulge in an Alfa even more rare than the 8C itself. The Disco Volante pays homage to the 1952 Alfa Romeo Disco Volante – based on the Alfa 1900 – and is built from aluminium and carbon fibre to keep weight in check, although under the skin remains pretty much Alfa 8C.
