I bought this a few years ago for a project that I've had to come to terms with will never happen. This is actually my second DIS8, the first was the earlier model that had the pigtail fixed to the top of the unit. The first one got sold with the vehicle it was on at the time. When I bought this one I had intentions on using it with a roller cam so I had it fitted with a bronze drive gear. This package would be complete but I don't have the mounting buttons for the coils as they were welded already to the valve covers I was going to use at that time. Compu-Tronix will sell you replacement buttons (mounting post) they have them in steel and aluminum and the y are only a few dollars. Also missing are the wires; standard cut to length wires are all the kit came with to start and again a set of wires from Summit or Jegs is pretty cheap. The gold colored plate in the photos is the mounting post placement jig for holding the post in the exact position when welding. Keep in mind you can mount these coils wherever you want i.e. firewall, valve covers, ect.

This DIS8 fits small block chevy and big block chevy V8.

This model sells new for $600.00 from the manufacturer, I'm selling this one starting at $300.00 and no reserve. This unit has never been installed, you are basically buying a new DIS8.

Why DIS?

Standard distributors distribute a spark to each plug in turn, from a single coil. At higher RPM's, they cannot charge and discharge the coil fast enough to deliver a full charge to the spark plugs. The DIS8™ solves this problem through the use of four 60,000 volt coils charging and discharging in turn, allowing each coil sufficient time to charge and discharge a full spark. This equals more power.

Conventional cap and rotors allow for spark degradation, arching and ozone as the current travels through the rotor and across to the cap contacts. By doing away with these antique parts, the DIS8™ is capable of supplying a full energy charge from the coils to the spark plug with no spark loss.
