Jaguar F-Type Coupe pictures were actually the CX-16
Thu, 09 May 2013In fact, the photos we published turn out to be images Jaguar submitted to the European Patent office when the CX-16 Concept – the first view we had of the new F-Type – was being readied for its debut in 2011. Oh, well. But despite the images we ran turning out to be a bit of a red herring, there’s no doubt Jaguar will reveal an F-Type Coupe before too long, but not necessarily as soon as the ‘production’ patent images led us to think.

But it wasn’t actually a big surprise after the Range Rover Evoque spy photos we published showed a very similar silhouette to the original LRX Concept. The Kensington Palace reveal was about capping off Range Rover’s 40th Anniversary with a flourish; the way forward being the plan.
Who's Where: Gerry McGovern to head Land Rover design
Wed, 16 Aug 2006Land Rover has announced that Gerry McGovern will take over as Design Director for all Land Rover design with immediate effect. Current Design Director, Geoff Upex, is to retire from the company at the end of 2006 after 23 years service and, to ensure a smooth handover, will continue to play a key role in the launch of new products including the all-new Freelander2/LR2 over the coming months. Gerry McGovern has been Director, Advanced Design, Land Rover, since 2004 and has spent the majority of his career with Land Rover and Rover Group in UK, apart from a short period with Lincoln-Mercury in the USA.
