This iPod cable allows you to plug an iPod™ into
the Chrysler Dodge Jeep sound system through a 16–pin connector usingthe provided interface
cable.
UCI supports Mini, 4G,
Photo, Nano™, 5G iPod™ and iPhone™ devices. Some iPod™ software versions may
not fully support the UCI features. Please visit Apple’s website for software
updates.
NOTE: • If the radio has a USB
port, connecting an iPod™ to this port does not play the media. For playing an
iPod™, use the separate 16–pin connector port located in the center console. • Connecting an iPod™ to
the AUX port located in the radio faceplate, plays media, but does not use the
UCI feature to control the connected device.
Connecting the iPod™ Use this connection cable
to connect an iPod iPhone to the vehicle’s 16–pin connector port located on the
center console glove box. Once the iPod™ is connected and synchronized to the
vehicle’s UCI system (iPod_ may take a few seconds to connect), the iPod_
starts charging and is ready for use by pressing radio switches, as described
below.
NOTE: • You may have to remove
the connector pin protection cap from the 16–pin connector port, prior to
connecting the cable.
• If the iPod™ battery is
completely discharged, it may not communicate with the UCI system until a
minimum charge is attained. Leaving the iPod™ connected to the UCI system may
charge it to the required level.
Using This Feature By using the optional
connection cable to connect an iPod™ to the vehicle’s UCI 16–pin connector
port: 1) The iPod™ audio can be
played on the vehicle’s sound system, providing metadata (artist, track title,
album, etc.) information on the radio display. 2) The iPod™ can be controlled using
the radio buttons to Play, Browse, and List the iPod™ contents. 3) The iPod™ battery
charges when plugged into the UCI connector.
Controlling the iPod™ Using Radio Buttons To get into the UCI (iPod™)
mode and access a connected iPod™, press the “AUX” button on the radio
faceplate.
Once in the UCI (iPod™)
mode, iPod™ audio tracks (if available from iPod™) start playing over the
vehicle’saudio system.

Next year will see carmakers including Honda, Mercedes Benz, Nissan, Ferrari, Chevy, Infiniti, Kia, Hyundai, Volvo, Jaguar, and Acura offering Apple's new iOS in the Car system, developed to let drivers use key iPhone functions via the dashboard screen. Drivers will be able to make phone calls, play music, display Apple Maps and receive iMessages either by using the car's controls or through voice commands to Apple's voice-recognition program, Siri, which can also read iMessages aloud and write new messages as part of Apple's Eyes Free feature set.

GM’s decision to drop the Chevrolet brand from the UK and Europe in 2015 to focus on Opel and Vauxhall brands could leave standalone Chevrolet dealers with a problem. But Korean car maker SsangYong – now owned by India’s Mahindra – are jumping in quickly to propose an alternative for disenfranchised Chevrolet dealers in the UK looking for another brand to fill their showrooms and service bays. SsangYong say they have openings for new dealerships in England, Scotland and Wales and are looking for dealers principles with Chevrolet franchises to get in touch to see if a deal can be done.
