CIPA's experience in the development and manufacture of rearview mirrors is derived from the European automotive industry. Until 1985, CIPA-USA was a subsidiary of CIPA-France, and innovative industry leader for over 65 years. Established in 1926, CIPA-France has played a major role in the design evolution of rearview mirrors. Clients in the European market include BMW, Mercedes, Renault, Volvo and Volkswagen. In the US market, CIPA mirrors can be found on Chrysler and Ford vehicles, plus some of the finest motorcycles, boats, ORV's, personal watercraft and snowmobiles manufactured. Since 1985, CIPA-USA has been a privately held U.S. Corporation operating in Port Huron, Michigan. CIPA has continued to show healthy growth year after year. CIPA currently manufactures its products in the U.S, Asia and France, and continues to provide high quality, fast-moving products setting sales volume records in almost every category sold. CIPA's high level of customer service and 'just in time' deliveries have converted CIPA from just a mirror supplier to a business partner. In 1987, CIPA entered the marine industry as a supplier of rearview mirrors to tournament ski boat manufacturers. Today, CIPA supplies mirrors to 100% of the tournament ski boats manufactured in the U.S. Since its entry into the marine industry, CIPA has introduced many innovative mirrors to enhance rearview safety in the family recreational and PWC segments. In the spring of 1992, CIPA introduced the first PWC aftermarket mirror, and remains the only company selling mirrors in that market today. CIPA-USA is the only company in the world with a full line of mirrors for all watercraft types.

Phones topple tailgating as most hated driving habit

Thu, 10 Apr 2014

THERE’S a new ‘hate’ at the top of drivers’ lists, after a study from Kwik Fit showed that using a phone at the wheel has overtaken the long-standing bad habit of tailgating. Talking or texting while driving is hated by 47% of drivers, according to the research; comfortably ahead of tailgating on 42%. It’s the first time that following too closely has been knocked off its seriously irritating perch in years.

Audi RS5 TDI Concept gets electric turbo and 380bhp

Wed, 28 May 2014

The Audi RS5 TDI Concept (pictured) gets an electric turbo It’s two years since Audi revealed it was working on an electric turbo to be used in a twin-turbo setup, with the electric turbo able to offer boost pressure from much lower down the rev range than a normal turbo. That has turned in to the Audi RS5 TDI Concept, where Audi has replaced the normal RS5‘s V8 with a 3.0 litre TDI engine with a small electric turbo for low rev work and a bigger turbo to do the higher rev stuff. The electric turbo works from the off to provide maximum torque of 553lb/ft from just 1250rpm, before the bigger normal turbo takes over at 3,000rpm to continue the boost.

Ferrari 458 Italia World Première +Video

Fri, 11 Sep 2009

The Ferrari has its world premiere this week in Maranello Wednesday evening saw gala presentation of the 458 Italia to an invited crowd, and Ferrari had every Ferrari-associated face on display, from Michael Schumacher to Piero Ferrari. It’s the usual glad-handing event, but we do get a few glimpses of the 458 in motion, and it’s a curtain raiser for the proper reveal next week at Frankfurt. I’ll take the nice black one near the end of the video.
