Toyota FT-EV concept unveiled at Detroit auto show 2009

By Ben Pulman Motor Shows 10 January 2009 20:00 This is Toyota’s new FT-EV concept, the first of three eco-friendly cars being unveiled at the Detroit motor show over the next few days, the other two being the all-new third-generation Prius and the hybrid-only Lexus HS250h. The FT-EV is Toyota’s way of confirming that it will build a battery-electric vehicle (BEV) in 2012, but it’s also using the concept to promote its other environmentally friendly vehicles. The FT-EV concept is built on the iQ’s platform, and designed for commuters with daily journeys of less than 50 miles.

Vauxhall Adam: Prices & on sale at Paris 2012

The new Vauxhall Adam (and its European sibling, the Opel Adam) have their debut at the Paris Motor Show when the order book opens. We’re still not entirely convinced that the Vauxhall Adam has enough individuality to be a star in the marketplace, but it looks a decent offering nonetheless. Its styling is distinctly generic – it looks like a mish-mash of ideas from successful competitors – but Vauxhall is promising much for the Adam with extreme levels of customisation and lots of high-end toys, even if many will be cost options.

Ford Evos Concept – 21st Century Capri

Ford Evos Concept Now they can remake The Professionals; the Ford Capri is back in town and it’s calling itself the Ford Evos Concept. Ford has revealed a the Evos Concept ahead of the Frankfurt motor show, and its swoopy lines and 2+2 Grand Tourer Fastback shape evoke memories of the 1970s Ford Capri. But this is the Capri re-born; a Capri for the 21st century.
