The best solution is the  Cobra EZ-Lock, a specially designed stainless steel spring pin system that "locks" the arms of the plug's latch mechanism in the "down" position. It is a must-have for anyone that owns a Yamaha Jet Boat built from 2000 to today.

When a clean out plug releases under power 1 of 2 things happens. The first issue is that the plug launches hard, blowing the rear deck open and shutting down the engines. This usually requires replacing the rear latches and possibly replacing the clean out plug if it ends up sinking.

The second commonly reported issue with a clean out plug coming loose while the boat is being operated is the plug repositioning itself sideways in the tube allowing water to enter the hull.

Eventually the operator becomes aware of something wrong, hopefully before the engines ingests water.

The ezlock was designed to lock the FACTORY PARTS, simply, reliably and cost effectively without removing or replacing any of the original parts with the intent of avoiding warranty issues.  Other locking systems usually replace the factory parts thus voiding any possibility of a warranty claim if a plug fails.  Our installation is very  simple , it's easy, and it's very inexpensive. There is no need to fumble around down inside the clean out plug tube trying to tighten things or use any tools to set the locks or remove them to gain access to the pump.  There is certainly not another plug lock available  that is as easy to use, easy to install or more reliable , at any price. It's just good old common sense!

When you go out to enjoy the day you don't want to deal with or worry about an avoidable problem.

The standard Cobra EZ-Lock kit (which includes two EZ-Lock stainless steel spring pins, lanyards, and drill-bit for modifying your clean-out plugs) is available for $59.95  plus shipping in the U.S.A.,

* Shipping is also available outside the US for an additional charge.

Don't waste another day on the water  worrying about  your clean-out plugs, order Cobra EZ-Locks today.

(Yamaha clean-out plug NOT included)

KTM X-Bow – the heavyweight dealer arrives

Thu, 11 Jun 2009

Dick Lovett has been appointed as a dealer for the KTM X-Bow And the profile of the X-Bow keeps growing with the effusive comments from those who’ve driven it and the decent marketing the car is enjoying through sensible stuff like the KTM X-Bow Drive Orange days at Brands Hatch and Silverstone. But that 1,000 car a year production may have to be revised again after it has been announced that Dick Lovett – a high-end supercar dealer – has just been appointed KTM X-Bow dealer for South Wales and South West England. We who read (and write) about cars every day tend to assume that anyone looking for a supercar or high-end sports car is completely au fait with what the market has to offer.

New Mercedes SLK caught testing

Wed, 15 Jul 2009

The next generation (2012) Mercedes SLK caught testing at the Nurburgring The next generation SLK looks to be more aggressive in stance, with a nose that takes on the family theme from the new Mercedes E-Class. It seems likely that the new SLK will come with a new set of engines, with more than a passing nod to eco-concerns. In will come a 1.6 litre, four-pot supercharged engine that will pick up the mantle from the old 1.8 litre Kompressor engine – same power – or more – with lower emissions and better economy.

VW Golf R 400 could get more than 400PS – which makes a bit of a nonsense of its name

Mon, 12 May 2014

The VW Golf R 400 (pictured) may not actually be an R 400 The Beijing Motor Show last month saw the debut of the VW Golf R 400, an extreme take on the VW Golf R with a full 400 PS (395bhp) at its disposal. When Volkswagen revealed the R 400 as a concept we did note that it looked more production-ready than concept, and it took VW less than a week to confirm that the Golf R 400 was indeed heading for production. Now, just to muddy the waters a bit (or raise expectations), VW’s R&D chief Heinz-Jakob Neusser has said that when the Golf R 400 does arrive it could well be with more than 400PS.
