Aston Martin and Mercedes tie-up over Lagonda

Probably the biggest surprise of the Geneva Motor Show was the arrival of the Lagonda Concept. Although the revival of the Lagonda Marque had been much speculated upon, particularly with Lagonda celebrating its 100 year car making anniversary this year (an all the marketing opportunities that offers) no one had seen a super-luxo SUV on the horizon. Porsche to take majority stake in VW for £7bn

The sportscar maker has been given the green light to purchase further stock in VW, taking its share past the 50 percent mark to give it a controlling interest. As soon as various legal checks have been cleared, Porsche plans to purchase a further 20 percent of VW stock – it already owns 31 percent - at an estimated cost of around £7 billion.

BMW has released new images and a lengthy press release detailing the design process for the new 7 Series sedan, set to be unveiled at the Paris Motor Show in October. We'll spare you the hyperbole here, but stay tuned for a Design Review of the Munich-based automaker's new range topping vehicle once we've seen the car in the metal in Paris.
