Legally Binding: Senate proclaims July 9 collector-car appreciation day

Now here's legislation we can all get behind: The Senate has passed a resolution designating July 9 as Collector Car Appreciation Day across the land. That's a Friday, meaning enthusiasts everywhere have a great excuse to drive to work in their favorite classic or vintage car--or to take the day off and simply drive. Who's Where: Satoshi Wada to open independent design studio

Satoshi Wada, former Senior Designer at Audi AG and Nissan Design Japan, is set to open his own design studio. Called SWdesign TOKYO, his ambitious plan follows on from a growing line of design managers who have left successful OEMs to establish their own design practices. Wada, who resigned from Audi AG in Ingolstadt earlier this month, told CDN he is aiming "to create a new vision with my own independent design studio in Tokyo".

Despite a three-box profile, the 5.5-liter V12 diesel engine is located behind passengers, putting out 700PS. Transversely mounted with a wide V angle, the engine still allows space for four occupants, with a trunk accessed via a motorised opening.
