Does your car know who’s driving it? It may do in the future – as Ford is working on technology that can recognise your face. The carmaker has teamed up with technology experts Intel to use sensors inside the car that can identify individual people, and adapt settings to that driver’s preferences.

Unless you've been on an unusually long and distant summer holiday, you will have noticed that every manufacturer is whetting gourmands' appetites for a feast of new metal at the Paris motor show 2008 – and the Orlando is one of a handful of new Chevrolets being readied for the French auto salon. The Orlando pictured here is a concept car, but the production version coming by the end of the decade won't look much different.

McLaren shows off its MP4-12C GT3 racer

McLaren GT, comprised of a partnership between the British company and CRS Racing, has unveiled its new GT3 race car based on the forthcoming MP4-12C sports car. This is the first McLaren built for FIA GT racing since the F1 GTR took to the track before production ended in 1997. "McLaren has racing in its blood, and it was a natural step to take our MP4-12C road car and turn it into the most reliable, efficient and easy-to-drive GT3 car," said Martin Whitmarsh, the McLaren Group's chief executive officer.
