Rolls Royce to set up shop in South America
Sun, 23 Oct 2011Rolls Royce showrooms planned in South America The paradox of the current economic malaise is that luxury goods – and luxury cars in particular - seem immune from the problems of the mainstream. Rolls Royce – to many still the epitome of luxury motoring – is doing very well, and is now planning an expansion in to South America. The cynical may say that Rolls Royce want a piece of the drug money floating round South America in their coffers, but South America is far more than a bunch of drug barons freely spending illicit cash.
Saab back online as NEVS rebuilds the Saab Brand
Sat, 02 Feb 2013The Saab website has now come back online with NEVS (National Electric Vehicle Sweden) outlining its plans to rebuild the Saab Brand. Back in September the long-running Saab Saga was finally concluded, with the sale of what’s left of Saab after Victor Muller’s little adventure saw Saab left as nothing more than another defunct icon brand from the annuls of motoring history, with NEVS taking control of Saab. The plan is to build a range of electric cars in Trollhattan and China, initially based on the Saab 9-3 platform but eventually developing the Phoenix platform in to the basis for Saab’s future.
Acura NSX details emerge
Tue, 14 May 2013This morning we know a little bit more about the return of the NSX, which will wear the Acura badge in this incarnation, including where it will be made: Marysville, Ohio. Specifically, in a building adjacent to Honda's Marysville auto plant. The 184,000-square-foot building was once Honda's North American logistics facility, before that it was a seat factory and at one time Honda made transmissions inside.
