Lexus Design Awards open for entries under the theme 'Senses'
Tue, 12 Aug 2014When we visited Milan Design Week earlier this year, the winners of the Lexus Design Award were a particular highlight – refreshingly free from automotive references, the work was in the true spirit of the city's celebrated annual festival. The theme of the 2015 competition is Senses, which opens up the opportunity for designers to explore sight, sound, smell, taste and/or touch. Entrants will be judged by a panel including architect Toyo Ito, curators Paolo Antonelli and Aric Chen, and Lexus president and former head of Toyota design Tokuo Fukuichi.

The Pavilion's upper platform will feature a range of BMW products, including the new i3 and i8 electric models, whilst the lower part will house an interactive display that allows visitors to view just how BMW is supporting both the Olympic games and Team GB.
Saab shutdown would doom new 9-5, 9-3 models

The new 9-5, a longer-wheelbase version of the Opel Insignia and the Buick Regal, is poised to go down in the annals of automotive history as a major rarity--a design that was fully tooled for production yet never got built.
