Porsche has ramped up the already heady performance of the 911 GT3 RS through the adoption of a new, naturally aspirated 4.0-liter version of the company's sturdy, horizontally opposed flat six-cylinder engine. The unit kicks out 50 hp more than the 3.8-liter six-cylinder used in the existing 911 GT3 RS. The need to reduce CO2 in the atmosphere is contentious - to say the least – but as long as governments use CO2 as a stick to beat motorists and empty their bank accounts it’s sensible to look at ways of ‘balancing’ the CO2 emissions of cars. French biochemist Pierre Calleja thinks he’s come up with a solution that would neutralise CO2 emissions from cars by cancelling it out with his micro-algae lighting.

It’s got more power, trick tyres, adjustable dampers, a titanium exhaust, and with that armoury Renault is firing a warning shot across the bows of forthcoming mega hatches like the Honda Civic Type R and Vauxhall Astra VXR Extreme.
