Lingenfelter Performance muscles up its own Trans Am
Fri, 27 Aug 2010Lingenfelter Performance Engineering is reviving a name from the growing list of dead car companies, building a reimagined, 2010 Chevrolet Camaro-based Trans Am for the PlayStation generation. Ken Lingenfelter and his Decatur, Ind., team redesigned almost every panel of the Camaro, leaving only the doors and the roof intact. They parked a 1971 Pontiac Trans Am alongside the donor car for inspiration.

No longer does the Panamera have a dog shagging back end, it’s now sleek and swooping. Fifty years ago Caroll Shelby changed UK motorways forever by teaming up with AC to produce the AC Cobra which, it is said, was responsible for Barbara Castle introducing the 70mph speed limits on motorways after AC used the new M1 to test the AC Cobra at speeds of up to 180mph.
