As the world recovered from a depression and then a war, these vehicles pointed to a better future that many people believed in, including the people who produced them. And, although many of the concept cars of the 50s, with their Jetsons plexiglass roofs and notional nuclear powered engines seem ludicrous now, in their time they weren’t that cynical.

As many as a third of people reckon having a luxury motor outside their home can add to the value of their house, the poll by car rental company Avis found. Around a third of the 2,000 adults surveyed also thought a flash car would help sell a property.
Nissan to pull Infiniti production out of Japan to counter strong yen
Thu, 05 Apr 2012The high value of the yen will prompt Nissan Motor Co. to shift production of Infiniti vehicles out of Japan to other locations, Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn said. "You won't have to wait a long time before we make a decision about the new base for sourcing of Infiniti," Ghosn told a group of reporters April 4 during the New York auto show.
