Toyota has revealed the revised Land Cruiser for 2010 But times move on, and Toyota has decided a modest facelift and a re-vamp is called for, and they have released details of the changes for their most iconic model, which will launch at the Frankfurt Motor Show this week, and go on sale in the UK in December. There are a number of styling tweaks inside and out to keep the venerable Land Cruiser fresh, including a revised dash and trim and tweaks to the bumpers and lights. But the biggest news – at least in the UK – is that the Land Cruiser will come with just one engine option – the 3.0 litre D-4D diesel with a five-speed auto-box.

U.S. light-vehicle sales--led by Volkswagen, BMW and Honda--jumped 9 percent in December, pushing the seasonally adjusted sales rate above 15.3 million for the second consecutive month and helping the industry finish 2012 on a high note. Automakers sold 14.49 million light vehicles in the U.S.

Tesla Model S battery fire inquiry closed by NHTSA

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said it closed a three-month-long investigation of fires in the Tesla Model S this week, as Tesla announced a design change to better shield the electric car's batteries. Tesla Motors Inc. said today it has started building the Model S with a titanium underbody shield to prevent battery fires like the two that occurred in the United States last year when Model S drivers struck road debris.
