Mazda Hakaze concept: first official pictures

By Tim Pollard First Official Pictures 05 February 2007 12:02 Mazda Hakaze: the lowdown Mazda claims to have reinvented the 4x4 with this new banana-coloured Hakaze concept at the Geneva Motor Show next month. It's a crossover with a twist, mixing the best bits of coupes, roadsters and SUVs, apparently. It's also, worryingly, designed to appeal to a very definite demographic: kite surfers aged between 30 and 40.

Renault Twin'Run concept

The Renault Twin'Run concept, unveiled during the weekend's Monaco Grand Prix, is the sibling of the Twin'Z collaboration with Ross Lovegrove. Together they fulfill the ‘Play' stage of Renault's ongoing concept car lifecycle. While its overall form is very similar to the Twin'Z's (apologies for awkward punctuation on Renault's behalf), previewing the next-generation, rear-engined Twingo, the ‘Run is altogether racier than the more pragmatic – if no less flamboyant – ‘Z.

Mitsubishi Concept PX-MiEV Ⅱ

Mitsubishi is set to unveil a duo of concepts at the Tokyo motor show later this month, the first of which is the snappily titled Concept PX-MiEV II. The PX-MiEV II is a plug-in hybrid-powered, mid-sized corssover. Externally, the PX-MiEV II appears to be similar in concept to its Outlander stable mate, with a high DRG featuring lights that run into the plexi-grille; a subtle reminder of the car's electric drive train.
