Description:
Dayco® No Slack™ Automatic Belt Tensioner

Designed to maintain constant tension on serpentine belt drives
Serpentine belt drives consist of a single belt that powers most, if not all, of the engine’s accessories. To maintain the proper tension throughout the drive, an automatic, spring-loaded tensioner is incorporated into the drive system geometry. Dayco’s Automatic Belt Tensioner features a patented “flat spring” design that’s engineered to provide less operating range variations in tension. This reduces the risk of premature accessory bearing failure due to high tension when a new belt is installed. It also lessens the risk of belt squeal and slippage, or poor accessory performance caused by low tension after the belt begins to stretch and wear. A Teflon® strip wound within the spring resists abrasion. The flat spring itself is coated to resist rust.

Other superior design features include a steel locator pin (where the application demands). A heavy-duty cast aluminum spring case resists cracking and fatigue. The heavy-duty cast aluminum arm offers additional strength and less distortion . An aluminum retainer ring locks the spring case and arm together, and seals against corrosion.A steel pivot tube (where the application demands) provides additional strength for critical torque requirements. A thermoplastic rubber “spring slot plug” keeps out harmful contaminants. The lubricated nylon “pivot tube bushing” and “spring bushing” promote quieter performance.A rubber “O” ring seals against dust and grime. The zinc coated mounting bolt resists rust, and is concentric for a more even degree of constant tension. In order to meet OEM performance standards, Dayco Automatic Tensioners come with either a glass-filled polymer (plastic) or steel pulley, that features a dust cover to protect against contaminants.

Skoda Fabia and Roomster: the 2010 facelifts

    Thu, 25 Feb 2010

By Tim Pollard First Official Pictures 25 February 2010 23:05 Skoda's big news at the 2010 Geneva motor show is a brace of facelifts: the Fabia and Roomster duo both receive a cosmetic makeover, new engines and a smattering of fresh tech to keep mpg up and emissions down.As these first pictures confirm, this is a modest facelift. The massaged radiator grille and reprofiled, wider headlamps are the most obvious changes, but there's also a looping detail line on the bonnet that swoops down to encircle the badge, reminding us of the hood on the latest BMW 5-series.The changes are also rolled out to the muddy-puddles Scout models. And what's all this about a new Fabia vRS hot hatch?Ah yes.

Maserati Wins Style Shoot-Out At 2014 Goodwood Festival Of Speed

    Tue, 01 Jul 2014

MULTIPLE world rally winner Sebastien Loeb wasn’t the one to leave Goodwood’s Festival of Speed smiling. And while he might have been the fastest up the hill, he wasn’t judged ‘best in show’. That title went to a particular Maserati A6 CGS Berlinetta, which was entered in the Festival’s traditional ‘style-et-luxe’ concours d’elegance event.

Concorso Italiano car show at Monterey Historics week 2013: in pictures

    Sat, 17 Aug 2013

Every year as part of the Monterey Historics week there’s an Italian car gathering that’s grown to the point where it’s an international – unmissable – event. For 2013 the venue was the Laguna Seca Golf Ranch, just next to the race circuit – and what an incredible line up of cars there was. Alongside the predictable was the completely unpredictable.
