A plan announced Tuesday morning called Total Confidence offers up to nine payments of up to $500 each if a car buyer loses his or her job in the first 24 months after the purchase. Kia Sorento SUV is recalled for problem with airbag sensor

Sorento models made between June 15, 2006, and Nov. 27, 2007, might have a malfunctioning sensor for the front passenger seat, incorrectly classifying passengers in that seat as children and therefore deactivating their airbags.
