Up for your bidding pleasure and consideration at auction is this 1947 Delco R 705 the first signal seeking radio that has been completely reconditioned from the wire harness to the handset that fits around the steering column. Working as to to specification this was the first signal seeking tuned radio manufactured for the auto industry to fit multiple year and make vehicles.

It will fit* 41-42-46-47 Chevrolet and Pontiac; 41-42-46-47 Buick and Oldsmobile; 40 Chevrolet, Pontiac and Oldsmobile;  40 Chrysler, Dodge and Plymouth; 41 Chrysler, Plymouth and DeSoto; 46 Dodge Custom, DeSoto Custom, Plymouth and Chrysler; 42 DeSoto, Chrysler and Plymouth; 47 Chrysler, DeSoto Deluxe and Custom Plymouth and Dodge Custom; 42-46-47 Ford and Mercury; 42-46-47 Packard; 46 -47 Studebaker; 42-46-47 Hudson; 46 DeSoto Deluxe; 41-42 Dodge; 47 Dodge Deluxe and the 46-47 Kaiser and Frazer.*

The handset fits the steering column and all controls are in it including the seek feature, on off,  volume, tone control and dial. What's more should you want to tune the radio manually there is a cable with new sheathing.

All condensors including electrolytics have been replaced. Resistors and tubes out of tolerance have been changed and some modifications have been made to enhance selectivity and sensitivty in the seek and audio features. A six volt negative ground solid state vibrator is included and polarity must be observed. Should you desire to put this in an 8 or 12 volt modified vehicle we recommend that a voltage regulator be purchased not supplied with the sale. A dropping resistor would not be the way to go as there  are solenoids and relays as well as the tuning meter that may not work properly. Any 4 to 8 ohm speaker and enclosure will work that will plug into the RCA jack.

You see these come up on ebay and none of them work. This one will.  It's a lovely radio that has had all controls cleaned lubed and the radio has been adjusted aligned and teched to spec. You probably will not get a chance to bid on one again sooo... GOOD LUCK!

Shipping and handling via FedEx to the lower forty eight @ $28.00 with insurance included. Will ship out of area including HI AK Canada and Overseas. Please request a rate.

Please contact me with any questions and will be happy to answer them. Bill The Radio Guy (360) 427 0513 PST.

Looking pretty much how you’d expect a GTI Diesel to look, the GTD gets smoked LED rear lights, bi-xenons with LED running lights, two chrome tailpipes, 18″ Nogaro alloys and the slightly butch body kt which includes side skirts, butch bumpers and a roof spoiler. Inside is ‘GTI’ too with tartan trim, black roof lining, sports steering wheel and GTD-specific trim for the gear lever, trim strips and instrument cluster.

We have the new Hyundai Veloster Sport 1.6 GDi – complete with Media Pack – in for review and road test. A quirky Hyundai coupe – but is it any good? Along with a sizeable chunk of UK car buyers, we’re big fans of the recent cars from Hyundai.

Thu, 25 Sep 2014

Jaguar XE 2.0 litre diesel Ingenium engine – from 99g/km Unlike the new Land Rover Discovery Sport – which makes do with the current outsourced 2.2 litre diesel engine – the new Jaguar XE is getting JLR’s all-new range of Ingenium engines from launch. Now, with the proper debut of the XE just a week away, Jaguar is happy to share a bit more detail on the XE’s new engines. Built at Jaguar’s new engine plant – in which JLR has invested £500 million – the new Ingenium engines are a clean-sheet design, as light and efficient as possible and capable of delivering an impressive blend of power and torque.
