New Jaguar XE London reveal on 8 September – more XE details revealed
Tue, 15 Jul 2014The new Jaguar XE will be revealed in London in September The new Jaguar XE – the new smaller Jaguar that aims to take the fight to cars like the BMW 3 Series and Mercedes C Class – will be revealed in London on 8th September, and Jaguar are promising the new XE will be “true sports saloon with class-leading dynamics, refinement and technology”. Jaguar want us to see the XE as a spiritual successor to the Mark II Jaguar, a car that redefines the sports saloon and is a proper drivers car. It’s a big aim, but it looks to have a lot of promise.
Koenigsegg Agera S Hundra: Geneva Motor Show
Tue, 05 Mar 2013The 100th car of Koenigsegg’s history has been revealed at the Geneva Motor Show – the Koenigsegg Hundra – a one-off Agera S. Now the Koenigsegg Hundra (Hundra means 100th in Swedish) has been unveiled on the floor at Geneva, representing 4000 man hours of effort by Koenigsegg to make their 100th car special. Costing the deep-pocketed Hong Kong customer a hefty $1.6 million (half the price of the Lamborghini Veneno) the Hundra is based on the Agera S – 1016bhp and 811lb/ft of torque, 1400kg, 0-62mph in 2.8 seconds – and sports a naked carbon fibre body with gold leaf highlights.
McLaren P13 set to arrive in 2014
Sun, 24 Mar 2013The next new car from McLaren – codenamed P13 and set to take on the Porsche 911 and Audi R8 – now looks set to arrive in 2014. McLaren’s plans for a new range of road cars have been in play for a number of years, and we initially expected the 12C to arrive first to take on the Ferrari 458, which it did, followed by a cheaper McLaren set to take on cars like the Porsche 911 and Audi R8. We got the McLaren MP4-12C (which McLaren now like us to call the 12C) followed by the 12C Spider – just as we first thought - but it seems McLaren was under pressure from its new dealer network to get the replacement for the legendary F1 out next, so McLaren switched tack and delivered the new McLaren P1.
