This listing is for a nice set of gauges.  Fuel gauge, amp gauge, heat gauge and oil gauge.  The gauges are being sold as is.  They are take outs from a truck that has been sitting.  The glass is in good, clear condition on both gauges and is not cracked.  The housings are in good clean condition with no surface rust.  There is some light surface rust in areas on the face of the gauges.  The temperature tube for the heat gauge has been cut.   None of the gauges have been tested and are being sold as is.

These gauges were removed from a 1945 Dodge Blackout truck.  Aesthetically they are slightly different than the trucks made before and after the war. They will still physically fit into and function the same way in the following trucks: These gauges were used on 1939-1947 Job Rated Dodge trucks of all sizes and all models made.  This includes Pickups, Panels, Cab and Chassis Stake Bed farm trucks, Cab Overs, etc.  They were also used on 1946-1950 1st Series WDX style 1-ton Dodge Power Wagons.  They were also used on 1939-1941 Plymouth Pickups.

Auto-safety history gets its place in the Smithsonian

Thu, 15 Jul 2010

Smithsonian museum officials say their new collection of auto-safety objects dating to the 1930s is about America's love affair with its cars. But really it's about our passion for, well, staying alive. While some enthusiasts might question whether their cars should be braking for them, it's hard to quarrel with most of this technology.
