Fuel duty freeze is 'no give-away'

MOTORING GROUPS have given a cautious welcome to Chancellor George Osborne's announcement of a freeze on fuel duty until May 2015. But Transport Secretary Patrick McLoughlin's insistence on the value of HS2 to the UK cut little ice with opponents of the high-speed rail scheme. On fuel duty, both the AA and the RAC pointed out that Mr Osborne was already getting big sums from motorists in taxation.

College Exhibition: Art Center Summer Show 2011 - Non-thesis work

Art Center College of Design held its annual Summer Degree show at its campus in Pasadena, California on the eve of the Pebble Beach weekend of events. Besides their main crux of thesis projects, nine graduating students in the acclaimed Transportation Design course showcased some of the designs they worked on during their internships and in previous years. Four guilty over 'crash for cash'

A GANG that deliberately crashed a 12 tonne bus with 26 passengers on board as part of a huge "crash-for-cash" scam, has been described as a "a professionally-planned, highly-organised group" by police. Officers were speaking after four people were found guilty at Sheffield Crown Court of playing a part in a fraud conspiracy worth almost £500,000. Seven other people had already pleaded guilty.
