Ferraris galore (and more) at DK Engineering open day +video
Sun, 08 Apr 2012DK Engineering open day 2012 DK Engineering – Ferrari restorers supreme – held an open day in March to showcase their facilities and their cars to super and classic car lovers. If you own – or covet – a classic car, especially a Ferrari, then DK Engineering in Chorleywood – just a short drive from Cars UK Towers – is as important an addition to your list of things never to forget as Kylie’s phone number and the location of the missing Bugatti Royale prototype. Founded by David Cottingham, DK Engineering has restored Ferraris for some of the most famous collectors of Maranello’s creations in the world from ‘celeb’ names like Ralph Lauren, Eric Clapton and Chris Evans to industrialists like Sir Anthony Bamford (JCB) and Sir Anthony Pilkington (Pilkington Glass).

Touring Superleggera Disco Volante and Ralph Lauren Bugatti win at Villa d'Este
Wed, 29 May 2013The Touring Superleggera Disco Volante was the surprise winner of the Design Award for Concept Cars and Prototypes at 2013 Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este. It beat the likes of the BMW Pininfarina Gran Lusso Coupe, Aston Martin CC100, Infiniti Emerg-E and McLaren P1, although it should be said that BMW, as a major sponsor of the event, dosn't enter its cars into the vote. The Alfa Romeo-based sports car once again proved that if it's red Italian and with a Milanese connection, it's a dead cert for winning the prize, voted for by both the judges and the general public.
