Volvo announces 2014 XC90’s world-first safety tech

The next Volvo XC90 SUV will arrive in 2014 with loaded with world-first safety technology to take on the Audi Q7 and Land Rover Discovery. The safety arsenal will include after-dark pedestrian detection, road barrier detection, as well as fully autonomous cruise control  and parking capability.  It’s the latest salvo from Volvo’s crack team of safety-obsessed engineers in the fight to realise the company’s ‘Vision 2020’ target – that no occupant of a new Volvo will be killed or seriously injured in an accident by 2020.

Earlier this month ‘Luiz Veiga: Tempos de Fusca' (Beetle Times) opened at the small OMA gallery in Sao Bernardo do Campo, Brazil. This exhibition proves not only a celebration of the Volkswagen icon, but also an opportunity to learn a little more about one of its exhibitors – Volkswagen Brazil's design director Luiz Veiga. Vauxhall Reveals The Secrets To A Successful Road Trip

A VAUXHALL commissioned survey, entitled ‘Are we nearly there yet?’ has revealed that 93% of 5-18 year olds are occupying themselves with a phone or tablet during long car journeys. However, traditional car games such as i-spy, car snooker and waving at other drivers, are not completely out the window in this modern, electronic age. It seems the survival of the traditional car game has lasted the test of time despite the introduction of new technologies, with over 87% of parents encouraging children to play games not involving technology.
