Kia rolls out a possible next member of its youth market-targeting Soul family at the Detroit Auto Show . Taking a page from the roadster playbook, the Soul'ster concept drops a set of doors from the Soul SUV, which goes on sale this spring, shortens the windshield and adds a two-piece removable top. Roll bars offer occupants additional protection not normally found on convertibles, and house a slider track cargo system.

BMW’s i3 electric city car has scored a four-star Euro NCAP safety rating in the latest round of crash testing by the European car safety body. Although the i3 recorded strong results in the adult and child occupant protection categories, it missed out on a maximum five-star score due to weaker showings in the pedestrian protection and safety assist classes. We ogled everything from McLarens and Maseratis to Twingos and Tatas.
