Jaguar XFR (2009) tops 225mph at Bonneville

Running at a secret test at the Bonneville Salt Flats, the one-off prototype, using a tweaked version of Jaguar's new supercharged 5.0-litre V8, topped even the legendary XJ220's 217mph top speed. Richard Petty honored in North Carolina with customized Dodge Challenger

NASCAR legend and team owner Richard Petty took a break from his busy schedule on May 28 to host his inaugural Spring Fling Car Show at Petty's Garage in Level Cross, N.C., and to accept delivery of the Legacy Dodge Challenger. The car was created to pay tribute to the famous driver and promote vehicle-lift safety. The event was sponsored by the Automotive Lift Institute.

Volvo announces 2014 XC90’s world-first safety tech

The next Volvo XC90 SUV will arrive in 2014 with loaded with world-first safety technology to take on the Audi Q7 and Land Rover Discovery. The safety arsenal will include after-dark pedestrian detection, road barrier detection, as well as fully autonomous cruise control  and parking capability.  It’s the latest salvo from Volvo’s crack team of safety-obsessed engineers in the fight to realise the company’s ‘Vision 2020’ target – that no occupant of a new Volvo will be killed or seriously injured in an accident by 2020.
