Nissan is 80 years old in 2014, and as part of its birthday celebrations the Japanese firm has unveiled a brand-new Sport Sedan Concept at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit. 'Sedan' is the American term for a saloon car – and as the rest of its name suggests, Nissan is aiming to make this four-door far sportier than your average executive express. McLaren GT comes home to Woking in England

The picturesque town of Woking, Surrey, in the south of England is home to the McLaren Technology Center (MTC), the McLaren Automotive factory that builds the MP4-12C supercar and, soon, a dedicated facility for McLaren GT. McLaren GT is a branch within the McLaren Automotive Group, started in 2011, that supplies MP4-12C GT3s for competition. The space is a 60,000-square-foot facility that housed McLaren Racing from 1987 to 2004.

Renault buys Caterham stake in Alpine as Anglo-French deal collapses

It marks the end of the road for the Anglo-French collaboration, leaving Renault the sole owner in Société des Automobiles Alpine. Today’s announcement terminates the 50-50 partnership signed in November 2012 between the two companies, a partnership that started with the promise of building two sister sports cars, one from Alpine and one from Caterham.
