New Land Rover Defender: Revised DC100 at Los Angeles Motor Show

The New Land Rover Defender DC100 Concept We had the first view of the new Land Rover Defender – the Land Rover DC100 Concept – at the Frankfurt Motor Show last month. But Land Rover made it clear that the DC100 is a work in progress, and that they were looking for feedback as the quest to replace the Defender with a 21st version gathers speed over the coming years.

New Bentley Continental GT Speed hits 205mph (video)

With the new Bentley Continental GT Speed about to get its public debut at the Moscow Motor Show we have new video of the GT Speed hitting 205mph. We had the news this morning that the Bentley Continental GT and GTC are both getting the new 8-speed ZF gearbox to make them both quicker and more economical, a new feature for the W12 engined Bentleys that’s also shared by the new Continental GT Speed. The GT Speed is due to get its public debut at the Moscow Motor Show next week, and as a bit of a PR trailer for its public debut Bentley has released new video of the GT Speed doing what it does very well – going quickly.

Transport dangers

FILM FOOTAGE showing the shocking consequences of motorists not slowing down or paying attention when driving through roadworks has been released by the Highways Agency. One bit of film shows a lorry overturning, while another shows a truck ploughing into the back of a car. The footage prompted a Government minister to warn drivers that "saving a few seconds on your journey is simply not worth it".
