New Mercedes ML to be the Mercedes GLE
Wed, 27 Aug 2014The Mercedes Concept Coupe (pictured) will arrive as the Mercedes GLE Coupe Car makers’ model ranges have grown massively in recent years and that, in a lot of cases, has left traditional model designations floundering to inform potential buyers. Mercedes has made some moves of late to address the lack of clarity in model designations (the Mercedes CL, for example, has become the new Mercedes S-Class Coupe), and new models have started to arrive with more descriptive names. Models like the CLA (a coupe from the A-Class range) and GLA (an SUV/Crossover from the A-Class range) and that looks set to be extended when the next Mercedes ML and ML Coupe arrive in 2015.
Sir Stirling Moss, 81, retires from racing
Thu, 09 Jun 2011While participating in a live interview with Joe Bradley of RadioLeMans.com on Thursday, Sir Stirling Moss announced his retirement from the sport that he loves. "This afternoon I scared myself, and I have always said that if I felt I was not up to it or that I was getting in the way of fellow competitors, then I would retire," Moss said. Moss is one of the most recognizable figures in motorsports, with a career that has spanned more than 60 years.
Lamborghini Murcielago production ends
Fri, 05 Nov 2010The last Lamborghini Murcielago - an LP670-4 - leaves Sant'Agata Despite the Lamborghini Jota (or Lamborghini LP700-4 as we may now have to call it) failing to make the Lamborghini stand at last month’s Paris Motor Show, the news that the last Lamborghini Murcielago has now rolled out of Sant’Agata is as clear a sign as there can be that Lamborghini’s new range-topper is just round the corner. The final Murcielago – an LP670-4 in Arancio Atlas with big wing – actually rolled off the production line in May. It was the 4,099th Murcielago to roll out of Sant’Agata, by far the biggest run of twelve-cylinder cars in Lamborghini’s history.
