Mon, 19 Mar 20122012 Renault Megane - price & spec revealed Renault has announced UK prices and specifications for the 2012 Renault Megane hatchback, coupe and Sport Tourer. Renault may have slashed its UK offerings, but the perennial Megane soldiers on with a small tidy-up for 2012, new prices and new specifications, with details announced today. The small tweaks across the Megane range are modest and include daytime running LED on the Dynamique and TomTom, tweaked bumpers and new alloys.
Gordon Murray's electric city car gets green light
Thu, 05 Nov 2009The UK Government tonight announced a major investment in Gordon Murray's radical new city car project. A £9 million grant will fund development of the T27, an electric city car successor to the original T25 being designed in the UK by the maverick engineer behind the McLaren F1 and numerous racing cars. The money will be spent designing and producing four prototypes over a 16-month period, with the eventual aim of putting an electric car with sustainable manufacturing processes into full production here in the UK. The T27 will be the follow-up to the petrol-powered T25, a small city car designed by jointly by Gordon Murray Design and Zytek Automotive technology.
VW BlueSport Concept moves nearer to reality
Mon, 19 Jan 2009We reported last week on the VW BlueSport Concept, a relatively economical 2 seat roadster, which VW unveiled at the Detroit Motor Show. We said then that if we were VW we’d be pressing the start button as soon as possible, and reports seem to indicate that that is exactly what VW are hoping to do. The secret to the success of the BlueSport will be the ability of the VW Group as a whole to find three platforms within its setup that can produce viable models based on the BlueSport Concept.
