Video: Adrian van Hooydonk on the BMW 4-Series Coupe concept

BMW's Director of Design Adrian van Hooydonk explains the design strategy behind the 4-Series Coupe concept's design in a video interview filmed at the car's reveal at the Munich Design Night. He talks us through how the design team played with the wheelbase length to create new shapes and convey a sense of "elegance and power". Yo-Auto Yo-Concept

Yo-Auto, a new Russian car manufacturer, is due to reveal its Yo-Concept at the 2011 Frankfurt motor show. The company is taking pre-orders for its range of hybrid vehicles, anticipated for release in 2012, which consists of a coupe, hatchback and a truck. Although it has been confirmed that the car will not make the jump to production, it is understood that Yo-Auto hopes the vehicle will lead the way in the future of car design.

It’s led to this: the Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge concept. It’s a supersaloon version of the Q50, named of after the ballsiest corner at the Spa-Francorchamps F1 circuit, and pointing to a new AMG and BMW M-car rival from Nissan’s luxury arm.
