Aston Martin DB 2/4: classic laden with Bond gadgets up for auction
Wed, 09 Jul 2014By Adam Binnie Motor Industry 09 July 2014 10:02 A classic Aston Martin, thought to be the inspiration behind James Bond’s car in the Ian Fleming novel Goldfinger, will be sold at auction this Saturday, 12 July 2014. As they began to peel back the layers they uncovered a set of unique modifications, similar to those in the fictional Bond car, including reinforced steel bumpers, concealed lockers, heavy-duty anti-interference ignition system, and connections for a two-way radio or homing device.

This time it was Lewis Hamilton who dominated from the lights – only briefly losing the lead during a pit stop – after a clean start saw him put clear air between the McLaren and a fired-up Massa who managed to wedge his Ferrari between Hamilton and Button before the first corner.

And the latest Polo supermini is every inch the shrunken Golf hatchback we were expecting – it looks like a Golf the cat sat on. One of the headlines is that they've cut the kerb weight by 8% over the outgoing Polo.
