So when we heard that Audi had confirmed – but without detail – that the Audi S1 would be at Paris everything made sense, apart from the lack of detail. But now we know why we got no detail – Audi has backtracked on the S1 and has instead planted the oily bits from the Polo GTI in to an A1 and Christened it the Audi A1 1.4 TFSI.

Citroen DS3 hits 200,000

The upmarket Citroen C3 – the very appealing Citroen DS3 – has hit the 200,000 production mark this week, a little over 2 years from launch. But we had to do a complete volte face when we finally had the new Citroen DS3 in for review – it’s an absolute cracker. In fact, so impressed were we with the DS3, we thought it probably the best car we’d had in during 2010, something Top Gear ended up agreeing with us on when they made it their car of 2010.

To avoid the costs of creating a whole new chassis, the M4S is based on a modified Huffaker tubular chassis with full roll cage taken from the Pontiac Fiero IMSA race car, only lengthened to a 100-inch wheelbase.
