 Up for auction is a Electromotive XDi2 complete ignition system, it was a spare for a Midget Race car, very little use Dyno testing only, the box is the only component that has been used, the coils and trigger are still brand new, it is a standard ignition unit for Midget applications, but has many other applications. any 4 cyl race engine.
The complete system runs for about $1000, new, get it here barely used for much less.

Designed to interface with Electromotive WinTEC4 software platform, the XDi2 system provides all the flexibility and tune-ability found in our engine management systems and packages it as a dedicated, stand-alone ignition system.

While the XDi2 was designed to give racers running carbs or MFI the kind of tuning flexibility not usually found in ignition systems, it is also a great way to upgrade from lesser distributor- and magneto-based systems on cars already running EFI. The XDi2 will run completely independently of any other controllers, offering unparalleled ignition control and flexibility. With a solution for just about any engine, the Electromotive XDi2 system is the choice for those racing and performance customers looking to get the absolute most out of their engines!

Product Description

The 2-Coil Direct Fire Unit (DFU) features two high-current-capacity non-transistorized coils mounted to a black anodized billet base. The DFU is potted and sealed against moisture and dust, and features a 4-position Metri-Pack connector. All DFUs feature matched coils for optimal performance with your Electromotive system. DFUs are compatible with all TEC and XDi systems. The DFUs feature no internal electronics and can be mounted virtually anywhere in the vehicle. One 2-coil DFU will support a single-plug even-fire 4 cylinder engine.  Use two 2-coil DFUs when running 8-cylinder or 4-cylinder dual-plug engines. These coils thrive in high-boost, high-compression applications and work with any fuel type, including methanol, E85 and Nitro.

Car insurance cost at four-year low

THE COST of insuring a car has fallen to a four-year low as motorists benefit from a record 19% drop in average premiums compared with a year ago. The Confused.com car insurance price index, in association with Towers Watson, reveals the average cost of comprehensive car insurance in the first quarter stood at £596, a drop of £140 against this time last year. The figure, including a reduction of 7.5% on the previous quarter, means that average premiums have dipped below £600 for the first time since late 2009.

These are the first pictures and details of a new supercar from fledgling Canadian company De Macross Motors Corp (DMMC), which was set up in 2009. It's called the GT1, and CAR has been given the lowdown on this new supercar.
