Lotus Evora Freddie Mercury Edition. Yes, really

Fri, 02 Sep 2011

Lotus Evora Freddie Mercury Edition We really weren’t too sure when we got a press release drop in that said “Another Lotus Bites The Dust…” and then went on to say that Lotus are building a one-off Lotus Evora S Freddie Mercury Edition to be auctioned for the Mercury Phoenix Trust. Wed, 05 Feb 2014

Aston Martin Aston Martin is recalling 17,590 cars - most models built since late 2007 - over a counterfeit component mistakenly used in the accelerator assembly, the firm announced this evening. A Chinese supplier makes the throttle pedal and Aston Martin said it had discovered one part used counterfeit plastic material instead of the correct component from a European supplier. Aston Martin is keen to stress that there have been no instances of the part failing or any accidents as a result of the counterfeit part.

17,000 solar panels to power Toyota’s Derbyshire plant

Toyota’s manufacturing plant at Burnaston in Derbyshire, where the Auris and Avensis are built, will install the biggest solar panel system yet seen in a UK car plant.  British Gas, which will stump up the £10 million cost of installing the solar panels, and Toyota are working together to save 2000 tonnes of CO2 emissions a year. Once the solar panels are installed, they claim it will save enough energy to build approximately 7000 cars a year.
