By Ben Whitworth Motor Shows 02 October 2008 12:04 Mercedes’ new Project Fascination – easily the best-looking car from Stuttgart in a long while – took centre stage on Daimler's stand, followed by the new S400 Blue Hybrid, a grenade-proof Pullman stretch limo, en electric smart and a new biturbo diesel. A busy stand. No wonder it took almost half an hour to unveil them all!

Lord Charles March – he of the Goodwood Festival of Speed – takes the 2013 Aston Martin Vanquish up the Goodwood hillclimb. The Hillclimb is a 1.16 mile road course, starting at the bottom corner of the Goodwood Estate where you take off on a tree-lined avenue before sweeping right and up past the main house before you enter a steep and narrow estate road, past unforgiving flint walls and woodland, before ending up by Goodwood’s racecourse at the top of the South Downs. It’s a thrilling run in almost any car (yes, we’ve been privileged to do it more than once) and now, with the ‘Moving Motor Show’ part of the Goodwood Festival of Speed, many more are getting the chance to try the hillclimb in car makers’ latest offerings - admittedly not usually at full tilt.

New Suzuki Swift (2011) revealed

The 2011 Suzuki Swift revealed After a few leaked and spy pictures cropped up, Suzuki has decided to do the sensible thing and stick out some detail and an official picture to feed interest in the new Suzuki Swift, which is due to go on sale in the Autumn. The new Swift is bigger than the current car – 90mm longer and an extra 50mm in the wheelbase – but despite that it’s both lighter and stiffer which means more room, more performance and better dynamics. When the new Swift launches the existing 1.3 litre lump will be replaced by a new 1.2 litre Dual VVT producing 92bhp and 87lb’ft of torque.
