Fashion designers make their mark on Opel/Vauxhall Adams

Vauxhall has joined forces with fashion designers Louise Gray, James Small and Fred Butler by giving them the chance to personalize their own Adam car. Each designer had their own Adam to customize and they set about the task of using it as a canvas to express their own signature style. Gray, whose designs are typically colorful and bold, used foil-printed silk crepe and large sequins to personalize her car; Small's smooth, brightly- painted Adam represents his printed menswear line, while Butler's vibrant geometric design conveys his personal style.

European Parliament: electric cars must make noise

The European Parliament has voted in favour of a European Commission proposal to decrease the maximum allowed noise for new cars, vans, trucks, buses and coaches, in an effort to reduce “vehicle noise nuisance” by 25%. At the same time, the EU has voted in favour of a proposal to force carmakers to fit electric and hybrid electric vehicles with a sound generating device, to improve low speed safety for pedestrians and the visually impaired. Saab's flagship sedan, the 9-5, is finally getting a dramatic re-do, and pictures are out on the Web in advance of its expected reveal at the Frankfurt motor show.
