Saab sees another production hiccup
Wed, 08 Jun 2011Saab, trying to recover from a production shutdown for most of April and May, hit another snag on Tuesday as the company said it had to halt production again because of a supply disruption. The latest issue is expected to be resolved on Wednesday, the company said. "We will start tomorrow again," Saab spokesman Eric Geers said on Tuesday.

The supermini concept can achieve a claimed average of 112mpg (and a maximum of 141mpg), and emits only 49g/km of CO2. Peugeot is especially keen to point out it’s a conventionally shaped supermini with five seats, unlike VW’s own super-frugal XL1, which looks decidedly sci-fi in comparison, but has a smaller boot than a Ferrari 458… The 208 FE is 25% slipperier and 20% lighter than a regular 208, but that’s only part of the reason it allegedly achieves such eye-opening numbers at the pumps.
Toyota Prius: Battery bottleneck limits Prius Output
Wed, 05 Aug 2009Battery bottlenecks are hurting efforts to boost output of the Toyota Prius to meet booming demand, and the problem will likely persist into next year, a Toyota official says. "The new Prius model has been excessively popular, inconveniencing some of our customers, and the factories are working overtime at full capacity," Takahiko Ijichi, Toyota senior managing director, said Tuesday at the company's quarterly earnings announcement. "Unfortunately, the batteries are not catching up with demand.
