Aston Martin Vanquish Volante Neiman Marcus Edition. Christmas is on its way
Thu, 10 Oct 2013Aston Martin Vanquish Volante Neiman Marcus Edition It seems like Christmas should be a long way off, but not if you’re Nieman Marcus – the Harrods of North America – where Christmas has arrived with the launch of their annual Christmas catalogue. Regular readers will know the Neiman Marcus Christmas car is a special edition car offered each year and customised to make it unique – and more expensive. Last year’s Neimen Marcus car was the McLaren 12C Spider (and the year before the Ferrari FF) and this year Neiman Marcus has stuck with the Brit offering and have the Aston Martin Vanquish Volante as their car of choice for Christmas 2013.

Fri, 01 Mar 2013The Toyota GT86 Convertible – in the guise of the FT-86 Open Concept has arrived earlier than Toyota would like ahead of a Geneva debut. Toyota teased the convertible GT86 with a sketch of the FT-86 Open Concept a few weeks ago – with a promise that all would be revealed at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show – but it’s arrived a bit earlier than Toyota wanted. The intrepid folks at FT86Club have managed to come up with photos of the FT-86 Open Concept (above) – and video – ahead of the official reveal by Toyota – and it looks pretty good.
Hyundai Veloster Midship concept shows what the Veloster could be
Sun, 01 Jun 2014The Hyundai Veloster Midship at the Busan Motor Show The Hyundai Veloster is actually a perfectly capable – if slightly quirky - sports car, which promises much but doesn’t actually deliver in terms of performance. In fact, when we reviewed the Hyundai Veloster a couple of years ago with its 1.6 litre petrol engine, we wondered if Hyundai would have been better giving the Veloster a diesel lump instead, which would at least have made its paucity of power less of a problem with more torque to play with. And the Veloster Turbo isn’t a huge amount better, only offering 184 bhp and taking 8.4 seconds to get to 62mph; figures we would have expected from the base Veloster if it were to be a properly credible competitor in the sector.
