Performance LLC F40 Shifter Cable Kit for Fiero Swaps
My original LS4/F40 installation used a modified 4 speed Fiero shifter, 2 Getrag Select cables, and a custom cable mount bracket for the transmission. On aggressive WOT upshifts to 3rd gear, the shift cable would buckle (instead of engaging 3rd gear) and within 6 months the shift cable broke. A stronger, better shifting, and better fitting cable solution was needed... This kit was designed around a stock 5 speed Fiero shifter – so there is no need to elongate the slots in the shifter or relocate the cable attachments. A bolt-in reverse lockout attaches to the 5 speed shifter using an existing hole and stud. An Isuzu Shift cable (significantly thicker/stronger) handles the "shift" or "front to back" functions. A Getrag Select cable handles the "select" or "side -to-side" functions. Lastly the custom bracket to mount the cables at the transmission is very rigid and holds the cable ends with machined split collar clamps. This setup has been issue free in my LS4/F40 Fiero for 2+ years and 20K+ miles, and countless 7000 rpm WOT upshifts. The Fieroguru Performance LLC F40 Cable Setup uses: ·
