Mon, 08 Feb 2010Porsche has revealed the 2010 911 Turbo S - sales start May. Porsche has a habit of sticking the ‘S’ badge on the back of its Turbo cars as a Special Edition or run-out model. It did it with 993 and 996 911s, but this time the 997 Porsche 911 Turbo S is to be a stand-alone model at the top of the 911 tree.

Now, Porsche has treated us to a little preview, courtesy of a video posted on its YouTube channel that chronicles some final validation and hot-weather testing of the next-generation 911 in Africa. Fri, 25 Aug 2006Following its display at the Goodwood Festival of Speed last month, the JCB DieselMax has recently proved itself the fastest yet diesel-powered car during Speed Week at the Bonneville Salt Flats, Utah. Andy Green, who in 1997 broke the sound barrier on land in Thrust SSC, piloted DieselMax to reach a top speed of 350.09mph, increasing the existing record set in 1973 by over 100mph. Helping the JCB DieselMax achieve this is a drag coefficient of just 0.174 and two 4.4-liter four-cylinder engines, each producing 750PS.
