Hennessey Venom GT sets new 270mph world speed record

The Hennessey Venom GT has set a new world speed record for a two-seat sports car, hitting an official top speed of 270.49mph. Carried out on the 3.2-mile Space Shuttle landing strip at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, USA, the Venom GT eclipsed the former fastest car in the world’s record, the 267.86mph Bugatti Veyron Super Sport. BMW M4 Convertible to debut in New York next month

The BMW M4 Convertible will join the M4 (pictured) with a NY debut in April BMW has pretty much finished rolling out its replacement for the 3 Series Coupe – the BMW 4 Series – with both the coupe and convertible 4-Series, the new M4 and even the 4-Series Gran Coupe all revealed. All that’s left is the range-topping 4-Series – the new BMW M4 Convertible. But that all all change next month with the M4 Convertible making its debut at the New York Auto Show before going on sale in Q3 2014.

Alfa Romeo are planning a hard-core version of the 8C - the Alfa Romeo 8C GTA But it’s been on the cards for a while that Alfa Romeo will produce and all carbon version of the 8C. And the likely début for that car – The Alfa Romeo 8C GTA – is likely to be 2010, the 100th anniversary of Alfa Romeo. The carbon fibre Alfa 8C GTA should shed at least 250lbs over the normal 8C.
