Wed, 28 Jan 2009

[ad#ad-1] Don’t mention the war, Basil! The Germans and Italians look like they’re getting in bed together again, but this time the axis could provide some goodies for us all, and some cost saving benefits for both BMW and Fiat. Fiat, in a strong position after posting their best ever figures for 2008, is on a bit of a rampage at the moment, looking to take advantage of the problems in the car industry that could end up pushing them up the car makers league table, even to the heights of the #1 car maker in the world, Toyota.

MIT researchers rethink electric-car batteries

Wed, 08 Jun 2011

Researchers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology say a new battery design for electric vehicles could be a lightweight and inexpensive alternative. At this point in the project, the prototype uses a “semi-solid flow” to separate the two functions of a battery--storing energy and discharging it when needed--into separate physical structures.

Jaguar at the London motor show 2008

Wed, 23 Jul 2008

What’s new on Jaguar’s London motor show stand?Don’t get too excited, but there’s the XK60 – a special anniversary version of the non-supercharged sports car, designed to celebrate six decades of the XK. It’s basically five grand’s worth of body kit and a chrome gearlever surround for the same money as a regular model.
