Back to basics for VW, says Walter de Silva
Wed, 25 Jun 2008By Adam Towler Motor Industry 25 June 2008 13:01 It was an odd place for an inside line into what future Volkswagens will look like, but when head of VW Group design Walter de Silva invited CAR to the old Fiat Lingotto factory in Turin - now a conference and shopping centre – we could hardly say no. De Silva described VW as being immersed in a 'process of defining their design language' which could be read as ‘we’re still sucking our designer thumbs to see what happens’. Audi, De Silva said, had already been through that process and its design DNA was ‘understood by everyone in the company, right down to the smallest details'.
2015 Audi A8, A8L and S8 unveiled ahead of Frankfurt Motor Show debut

Audi says the new A8 will put the German automaker among the innovation leaders in the luxury class. It cites as an example the short-wheelbase A8 3.0-liter TFSI's 4,034-pound curb weight, best in class for all-wheel-drive models.
Cyclists warned to ride safely
Tue, 19 Nov 2013BICYCLE RIDERS need to take more responsibility for their own safety in the wake of a spate of cyclists' deaths, one of London's top police officers has said. Chief Superintendent Glyn Jones's comments came after launching a new initiative that will see 2,500 officers being asked to reinforce traffic rules in the capital's most notorious black spots from tomorrow. The initiative was in response to the worrying statistic that six cyclists have been killed on London's roads in two weeks.
